EP Selection Races & Colours for Cross-Country

Eastern Province used to be one of the top provinces at National Cross Country and downhill events. The EP Mountain Biking Commission is committed to help lift the standard to get our riders back on the podium at National events. If you love the sport and think you have the ability to perform get yourself selected for the EP Team 2010! To get selected for the EP Team you must attend the following EP XC Provincial selection races.

17 January: Elliot Centre (National event to represent EP)
6-7 February: Johannesburg
28 March: Woodridge (National event to represent EP)
10-11 April: Pietermaritzburg
2 May: Thornhill (National event to represent EP)
15-16 May: George

There are two additional National XC events: 12-13 June - Nelspruit and 17-18 July -Pretoria.

Riders will be selected for an EP - A and EP - B team. Each age category will have a set minimum race time to qualify for the A team. The B team will have a set race time which will be slower than that of the A team. The first three riders per age category can be selected for the EP Team if they meet the time limit and there are more than 5 riders in the age category. To qualify for full EP Colours you must be selected for the EP - A team and attend at least three National events. To ride at a National event you must have a CSA License.

Sprogs - (11 - 12)
Sub Juniors - (13 - 14)
Youth - (15 - 16)
Junior - (17 - 18)
Senior - (19 - 29)
Under 23 - (19 - 22)
Elite - (19+)
Sub Vet - (30 - 39)
Vet - (40 - 49)
Master - (50 - 59)
Grand Master - (60 - 69)
Great Master - (70+)
