Windy start to the Spring League Series

altThe first event in the Spring League Series kicked off in rather windy conditions on Sunday morning, 22nd August 2010.  A relatively small bunch of riders were ready to shrug off the Winter Blues and braved the winds over a distance of 87km on a combined Dolphin and Pike Circuit route.

The race stayed together for the most part with a small 2-man break getting away in the last lap to win.  1st  place went to Regardt Koen, followed on his wheel by Brent Pheiffer.  The bunch was led in a further 2 minutes later by Roger & Wayne Pheiffer.

Spring League Series kicks off this weekend!

It’s time to get back into the saddle and get those legs spinning (for those who have taken a winter break from the bike)!  The “Spring League Series” kicks off this Sunday, 22nd August 2010 on the modified Dolphin Circuit – a nice easy ride to get back into things!!!
 
The Racing starts from Altona School with Race Registration at 06H30 – 07H45 and Racing starting at 08H00 (a nice late start for all those duvet huggers).  There will be racing for everyone with 3 Race Distances on offer, including a Schools Challenge and Fun Cycle Challenge.  The Spring League is an individual seeded series similar to the Summer League held earlier this year.  Rider seeding will be based on current 2010 Race Results.

The Spring League Series is made up of 5 Events between August and November 2010.  This Series hosts racing for all cyclists with a League Event, Schools League Event and a Cycle Challenge Event and is open to everyone.
