altThis Saturday saw a surprise finish when Welcome Stokwe rode away from the bunch to claim a well deserved win in the third event of this year's Winter League Series.  The tough Seaview Circuit was always going to break up the biggest start group of the series and it was Welcome Stokwe and Mark Murray who made the winning break with Conrad Viljoen close on their heels...

Riding together for most of the race, Welcome Stokwe and Mark Murray set a blistering pace around the Seaview Circuit after an early break on the first lap, while the chasing bunch seemed content to play the tactical game of whatching one another, having shattered the main bunch into three groups.

altOn the second lap Conrad Viljoen chased the break down, only to puncture shortly before the finish - leaving him to come in third behind his teammate after Welcome Stokwe turned up the gass on the final drag to the line.

The chasing bunch broke up on the final run to the line with Ronnie Scheffer leading in the first small group and the chase bunch being brought home by Brent Pheiffer.

altThe Schools League A race came down to a 2-up sprint with Shane Pheiffer taking the honours ahead of  Ian Terblanche.  Group B was won by Chris van Aard and Bradley Gouveris took the C Group race.
