The objects for which EPC is
established are to encourage, develop and control the
sport and pastime of cycling in the Eastern Province and
the other areas which might seek affiliation to the EPC,
as a means of promoting physical health, healthy
competition and well-being and in order to further the
above primary objects and as ancillary thereto: in
accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the UCI and
the CSA's own domestic Rules and Regulations, as amended
from time to time.
1. to support and protect the interests of all
cyclists.
2. to compile and enforce the rules and regulations
controlling cycle racing in all forms.
3. to affiliate to the South African Cycling Federation
and to affiliate to, or enter into agreement with other
bodies for the furtherance of the objects of
Cycling.
4. to arrange for the promotion of annual championships
and other cycling competitions.
5. to select competitors and officials to represent the
Eastern Province in cycling competitions.
6. to give prizes, medals and other awards and to obtain,
collect, receive and hold funds and properties from
legacies or otherwise for the objects of the EPC, or any
of them as the donor may direct or desire.
7. to give awards for competitive performances,
administrative services, managers and coaches.
8. to open and operate banking and savings accounts and to
invest any money in such manner as may be determined from
time to time.
9. to watch the course of any legislative proposals to any
Parliament, local councils or elsewhere affective to the
interests of cyclists, to make such presentations of the
subject as occasion may deem and to liaise for land
access.
10. to arrange for the instruction, training and
registration of officials, managers and coaches within
each discipline.
11. to raise funds for the purpose and objects of the EPC
and in particular for the purpose of sending teams to
various championships.
12. to arrange for the appointment of representatives of
the EPC to any national meeting or conference with such
powers as may be deemed advisable or expedient.
13. to purchase, take, lease or otherwise acquire any
movable or immovable property and sites and privileges
whatsoever which may be deemed necessary for the carrying
out of any of the EPC objects.
14. to control the design, form and award of EPC colours
for all disciplines and to restrain the unauthorised use
thereof and to take disciplinary action in respect of such
unauthorised use of these colours.
15. the income and property of the EPC from whatsoever
source derived shall be applied solely towards the
promotion and objects of the EPC as set forth in this
constitution providing that nothing herein contained shall
prevent the payment in good faith of remuneration to any
officer of the EPC or any member thereof in return for any
services actually rendered to the EPC.
16. To do all such
lawful things as are incidental to, or which the EPC may
think conducive to the above objects, or any of them.
